To the south on a motorcycle. News article of Mauricio Alarcón and Javier Fuica. jfuica@mercurio.cl

To cross the south of Chile and Argentina on a motorcycle can be a good idea, although it does neither need experience nor a motorcycle. How?

Attention with...

  • The idea is to travel with people who have a motorcycle. However, if you do not have one but still feel like experiencing a trip you can rent one in the south. A Yamaha XT600, 2001 model, costs 109 dollars daily · There are programs which values from 145 dollars for each pilot (reductions for groups), and special prices for the companions (non-bikers).

I CAN DO IT TOO

  • the idea of these routes that leave Osorno is that anyone can participate. For that reason, motorcycles enduro are not used here, and the displacements are by ways and tracks that are of earth but safe.

  • There are trips in the direction of Bariloche and Esquel, in Argentina, to see a forest of millenarian larches. Also the Llanquihue lake can be bordered, leading through Los Saltos del Petrohué and climbing the Osorno volcano, and of step to give to returns on boats jet in the Rupanco lake.

  • Options are many, so the passenger defines. There are ruteros of a day (to the Creek San Pedro, to the Seno de Reloncaví, return to Lago Ranco or Casablanca Volcano) and other that last up to ten days (for example, the one of Valdivia that arrive at Chiloé).
